Rumor has it that Hercules is set to be the main character of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film The Eternals.
It was announced recently that Angelina Jolie was in talks to star in Marvel Studios’ The Eternals. It was not said, however, who she would be playing in the film. Now, mere days after that announcement, the news is breaking once again about Marvel’s The Eternals.
According to The Hashtag Show (via ComicBook.com), Hercules will be featured as the main protagonist of The Eternals. We first got a taste of the cosmic aspect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It seems now that The Eternals will blow the doors wide open on that still relatively new aspect of the universe.
Additionally, introducing Hercules via The Eternals also implies that we will start to see Marvel Studios’ vision for the Greek pantheon of the ancient gods. We already got a taste of that life thanks to DC’s Wonder Woman, so it will be interesting to see how Marvel mixes things up with a lot of the same ingredients.
