Marvel’s Kevin Feige Hints At The Future Of The Quantum Realm

Quantum Realm Avengers 4 Marvel Kevin Feige

Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige hinted at the future of the Quantum Realm in the pages of a new book celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Quantum Realm had been hinted at in the Thor movies and was first unveiled in 2015’s Ant-Man. Fans got a closer look in Doctor Strange and an even closer one in Ant-Man and The Wasp. The latter left Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man, trapped in the Quantum Realm as a result of the “Snappening.” This along with leaked images from the set as well as a toy set with certain Avengers wearing similar suits to Hank Pym’s Quantum Realm fatigues have led fans to believe that the next Avengers film will have something to do with the new hot spot in the MCU.

It appears that the dimension will be a big factor moving forward for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the pages of the 10-year anniversary MCU book, Feige discusses how it will impact future films.

“At the end of Ant-Man, we followed Scott Lang into the Quantum Realm for the first time. We were beginning to peel back the onion that would later be completely peeled back in Doctor Strange as we go into the multiverse. So that was our little test into that. But now the Quantum Realm is a whole other territory that we can play with to tell our stories. This Quantum Realm is much larger than we ever imagined, and there are all sorts of adventures to be had at that level, which perhaps we will explore in another film.”

Marvel continues to impress with their mega franchise and just when you thought they had run out of ideas, they go ahead and invent a storytelling device that allows them to reinvent or reshape this universe at will. This is a great setup to have now that the X-Men and Fantastic Four are looking to make their way into the MCU. Now instead of explaining their absences, just turn on the Quantum tunnel, jump in your Quantum ship, and go into the Quantum Realm to do Quantum things to get the heroes you need into the storyline. Simply put, the Quantum Realm just insured the continued success of Marvel Studios, for at least one more phase. Fans will have to wait and see, however, what impact the realm will have in the near future when Avengers 4 releases next year.
