Is Sentry the secret weapon of Avengers: Doomsday? A rumor suggests that Lewis Pullman’s hero will be at the center of a truly epic scene.
One of the biggest questions fans have going into Avengers: Doomsday is how Sentry will play a role in the project. He’s one of the strongest characters in the MCU, if not THE strongest that doesn’t rely on magic or Asgardian blood. And with Lewis Pullman confirmed to return in the film, there’s a worry that the character may not be used to his fullest potential.
There’s two schools of thought when it comes to how Avengers: Doomsday can potentially waste Lewis Pullman. The first is that Sentry comes out early on, and is immediately stomped into the ground by Doctor Doom (or another villain) to show their strength. The second is that Bob never transforms into the Sentry until the final hour, with there being some contrived reason as to why he wouldn’t help out when the MCU’s multiverse is being torn apart.
The Sentry’s ‘Epic’ Scene In Avengers: Doomsday
Luckily, it seems as though Avengers: Doomsday is taking care not to fall into the trap fans are worried about. A rumor from Charles Murphy with Murphy’s Multiverse teases that Lewis Pullman may be the center of one of the coolest scenes in the entire MCU, seeming to tease that the Sentry will play a role in the upcoming film.

As for what this rumor could mean for Sentry, there’s not much that HASN’T been seen in the MCU. Given Avengers: Doomsday is set to have a heavy focus on incursions, it’s possible that Lewis Pullman’s hero manages to hold one back himself. That exertion could explain why he can’t just take down Doctor Doom immediately, as the comics establish that his powers can be overtaxed.
