Samuel L Jackson Kevin Feige Secret Invasion MCU

Marvel’s Secret Invasion is one of the most highly-anticipated shows coming to Disney Plus and fans are eager to get any new information about the upcoming espionage thriller. Fortunately, Vanity Fair has released a series of official promo stills that provide a sneak peek into the series and its main characters.

The promo stills spotlight the key players of Secret Invasion, including Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. With its all-star cast and ties to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, Secret Invasion is poised to be one of the biggest Marvel Studios projects to date.

In addition to the returning characters, Vanity Fair’s Secret Invasion stills also provide a glimpse of some new faces. Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame is confirmed to be playing G’iah, the daughter of Talos. Meanwhile, Kingsley Ben-Adir takes on the role of Gravik, a Skrull extremist leader who seeks to seize resources to ensure the survival of his people.

Fans may have to wait a bit longer to learn more about Olivia Colman’s Secret Invasion character, who is described as a “shadowy MI6 operative.” Samuel L. Jackson hints that enigmatic figure is a departure from her previous roles, with the actor teasing that “she’s coldblooded and just relishes being that person.”

What to expect from the Secret Invasion series

Secret Invasion is based on the comic book storyline of the same name, which was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu . The story revolves around a group of Skrulls, an alien race that has the ability to shape-shift and take on the appearance of anyone they want. The Skrulls have infiltrated Earth’s society and are secretly replacing key figures with their own kind in order to take over the planet.

The Secret Invasion comic book event was a huge success and is widely regarded as one of the best Marvel storylines of all time. The Disney Plus series is being led by Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, focusing on the aftermath of the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home and other Marvel projects
