New evidence suggests that Marvel Studios might just be moving forward with a Daredevil reboot for Disney Plus.
Is it happening? Fans patiently waited for years to see what Marvel Studios would do with Daredevil after the series, alongside the rest of The Defenders shows, were canceled at Netflix. After radio silence, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil finally joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home in a brief cameo. Kingpin, Daredevil’s most nefarious foe, also appeared as the big bad in Hawkeye, setting up future appearances.
Both Daredevil star Charlie Cox and Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio have maintained that Marvel has plans for their characters, they haven’t revealed exactly what the studio has up its sleeve.
While everyone has been debating what’s next for the franchise, Production Weekly slyly updated its site with a project titled “Daredevil reboot.” Production Weekly isn’t always credible but it has more wins than losses, so do take this news with a grain of salt. Fans might be disappointed to hear that Daredevil won’t be receiving a fourth season but the “reboot” could very well feature the same cast and establish the previous season’s groundwork.
But then again, Daredevil and Kingpin were recently introduced to millions of new viewers thanks to Spidey and Hawkeye, so perhaps a fresh start is needed for the two uber-popular characters? Only time will tell what Marvel Studios has up its sleeve but it’s great to know that Daredevil is set to return, even if it is a reboot.
