Former Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight has opened up about his hopes for Marvel Studios and Disney Plus to produce a fourth season.
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the rest of the gang are finally on Disney Plus, which makes the streaming service the definitive place for all things Marvel. While audiences will have to disable parental controls to access The Defenders saga, the shows are ready to be binged on the streaming service. The news comes at a time when Daredevil and Kingpin have been formally folded into Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to their respective appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye.
The Netflix/Marvel shows were canceled in the wake of Disney Plus, which would house all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future projects. Daredevil, The Punisher, and the rest of the shows finally ending up on the streaming service is a perfect full-circle moment.
While the future for Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders seems brighter than ever, we also don’t know what Marvel Studios has up its sleeve. Rumors have suggested that Daredevil will receive his own series on Disney Plus but plans are being kept in the dark.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if Daredevil will end up getting a fourth season, Steven DeKnight chimed in by expressing his excitement that the series is on Disney Plus. However, DeKnight revealed that he has no idea what Marvel Studios is cooking up but that he would love to return for a fourth season with the rest of the team.
