Marvel Studios has reportedly resumed their search for an actress to play Kamala Khan in the Ms. Marvel Disney Plus series.

While most fans are excited to see WandaVision as well as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney’s streaming service, Marvel Studios are reportedly resuming work on Ms. Marvel as they search for an actress to lead the series. The series is just one of many projects from Marvel Studios disrupted by the coronavirus, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also missing its start date. But a new report suggests the series might get started by the end of the summer.

According to notable scooper Charles Murphy, Marvel Studios has resumed searching for its series lead after the state of Georgia opens up for film and TV production after the pandemic. Because the Kamala Khan series is set to film in Atlanta, Murphy suggested that filming could begin by the end of summer. He was also quick to point out that he couldn’t get the news confirmed by a second source, so take it with a pinch of salt. Earlier this year evidence suggested the Kamala Khan show and Hawkeye will arrive in 2021, but it’s unclear whether that will change following the pandemic.
