Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a Disney Plus series focusing on Paul Bettany’s Vision.

A new report claims that The Vision is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to a new live-action series that’s being developed for Disney Plus. The report originates from reporter Jeff Sneider, who broke the news during the latest episode of his Hot Mac podcast with John Rocha.

Marvel’s Vision Quest

According to Jeff Sneider, Marvel Studios is starting a writers room for the Vision series, with work on the project kicking off next week. The reporter hears that the current working title of the series is “Vision Quest,” a reference to the West Coast Avengers comic book storyline by Steve Englehart, Mark Gruenwald and John Byrne.

The folks at GiantFreakingRobot were the first to say that Vision is getting a television series back in 2021, following the final episode of the Disney Plus series WandaVision. Developed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision followed Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany’s Vision living in an imaginary town known as Westview. It ended with the creation of White Vision, with his fate being one of the show’s unresolved plot threads.

Paul Bettany made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2008’s Iron Man as the voice of Tony Stark’s A.I. assistant JARVIS. His character morphed into The Vision during the events of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, with Bettany later reprising the role for 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. He hasn’t been seen since WandaVision.

While Paul Bettany’s Vision has been missing for more than a year now, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff was featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was released this past May. The movie earned $955.7 million at the worldwide box office, making it one of the highest-grossing features of the year.
