In a recent interview, the directors of Avengers: Infinity War revealed that they briefly considered involving the Marvel TV characters in the action.

With Avengers: Infinity War being the culmination of a decade of Marvel movies, many fans were left in awe. However, other fans were left wondering about one specific thing: where were the characters from Marvel’s TV shows? Thanks to a recent interview with Variety, we now know the answer. While the characters were briefly considered, Anthony Russo revealed that they were cut due to how much they already had on their plate:

“We made the briefest consideration of [including TV characters in ‘Infinity War’], when we’re alone in a room with [screenwriters Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely, we consider every idea. We like thinking of everything. But it seemed like the story that had been told within the movies was so specific and elaborate already that once we started working through the story, we knew we had our hands full just with this set of characters and narratives.”

While it would have been amazing to see Agent Coulson finally reunite with his hero Captain America, one can understand why the characters were left out. Avengers: Infinity War is already packed to the brim with characters, so adding anywhere from six to a dozen characters would’ve just made it feel like an unfocused mess.

What do you think? Should they have been included? Which Marvel TV character would you most have wanted to see? Leave your answers down below!
