VisionQuest lands a composer!

The Penguin has a score to settle with Disney Plus! VisionQuest has recruited Emmy-winning composer Mick Giacchino for the series.

Marvel has been keeping a tight leash on VisionQuest. Despite seemingly coming out later this year on Disney Plus, almost nothing is none about the series aside from a few tidbits when it comes to casting. This has left many fans of the beloved syntheszoid hungry for any update they can get their hands on.

And it seems as though that update is more DC than Marvel. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that VisionQuest has recruited a composer from across the aisle to helm the Disney Plus series. That being Mick Giacchino, composer for The Penguin and son of MCU sound design alum Michael Giacchino.

VisionQuest Settles The Score

Bringing on the composer from The Penguin is certainly an interesting move. Assuming that Michael Giacchino didn’t just call in a favor with the powers-that-be at Marvel Studios, this seems to imply that VisionQuest is taking a very different tone than what many might expect from the Disney Plus series focused on robots.

Fans thought that VisionQuest would be a science fiction drama similar to that of Star Trek. However, given The Penguin focused a lot on grounded scores, it’s more likely than not that the Disney Plus series will share a similar DNA. Perhaps the show will have a bigger focus on family – with Ultron and Vision’s relationship being a parallel to Oz and his mom?

VisionQuest is set to land on Disney Plus in 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Vision and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
