Marvel Studios was working on a new series focused on Wiccan before the Hollywood strikes put plans on hold.
Heartstopper breakout Joe Locke, who is set to play Wiccan in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, was expected to have an expanded role in the Marvel TV lineup. Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman has revealed that a Wiccan series was in development prior to the ongoing Hollywood strikes.
For the unacquainted, Billy Kaplan isn’t just any character in the Marvel Universe. As Wiccan, he holds a significant legacy being the son of Wanda Maximoff and The Vision. His story took a dramatic turn in WandaVision when Wanda dismantled the Hex and erased him from existence alongside his twin brother Tommy.
For the time being, the Hollywood strikes have thrown a wrench into Marvel’s plans. Numerous eagerly-awaited projects are either delayed or paused, with the Wiccan series falling into this bracket. As things stand, Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Vision Quest are up next, with hopes that once the strikes are resolved, the Wiccan series can move forward.
