Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con surprises keep on coming with the first look at X-Men ’97.

X-Men ’97 made a huge splash at the Marvel Animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con. During the presentation, Marvel announced that the series has already been renewed for a second season, with the first one set to premiere in Fall 2023 on Disney Plus.

The new X-Men ’97 line-up consists of Rogue, Gmabit, Wolverine, Jubilee, Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey and Beast, with Magneto leading the titular team. Check out the first images from the series below.

Beau DeMayo, best known for his work on The Witcher and Moon Knight, is serving as head writer and executive producer of the new X-Men ’97, with original series writers Eric and Julia Lewald consulting alongside director Larry Houston. The final episode of the original series saw the X-Men standing outside the X-Mansion as they said goodbye to Charles Xavier, who left with Lilandra to visit the Shi’Ar homeworld.

X-Men ’97 is set to feature the return of voice actors Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, and Alyson Court. The Disney Plus series also features the voice talents of Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio.
