The reviews for Marvel Zombies are officially in! The Rotten Tomatoes score for Marvel’s latest series tease that fans are in for one spooky treat this Halloween.
Marvel Zombies is a series that many forgot was even coming out. It serves as a spin-off to What If…?, a series with its own critical hardships as its Rotten Tomatoes score shambled lower and lower with each subsequent season. This has left many cautiously pessimistic about the horror-themed continuation, waiting for reviews to come out before taking the time to watch the series.
Yet it seems as though Marvel Zombies turned out better than most expected. The series currently sits at a 77% critically on Rotten Tomatoes, having a slightly higher audience score with 85%. This means that, while the reviews sit lower than every critic score for What If…?, it eclipses all audiences scores for all seasons of the show except for season 1.
Initial Reviews For Marvel Zombies
Yet not everyone trusts score aggregators like Rotten Tomatoes. Luckily, a number of prominent influencers have taken to social media to give their thoughts on Marvel Zombies. Just like the above score, the reviews are mixed, with most able to find some positives in the series despite there still being some glaring issues with how Marvel has handled the What If…? franchise.
Marvel Zombies is some Marvel Animation’s best work.
Delivers swiftly on the TV-MA promise, following up the What If..? story with a new one which mostly works.

Imma need a season 2 asap. This show captured a lot in the bottle in just 4 episodes. We got some insanely cool stuff. The action was peak. The character interactions are some shit I NEED to see live action. And that cliffhanger was a bold move and I loved it! #MarvelZombies pic.twitter.com/3gsrsnQBPZ

I've seen all 4 episodes of #MarvelZombies and it's good, that's about it. The final episode feels like the perfect third act and most of the show acts as a film but the band of characters is never A1 compelling but Kamala is a really interesting protagonist. pic.twitter.com/SSfhbmKQjE

As of right now Marvel Zombies sits as the last installment of Marvel’s What If…? franchise. With the Multiverse Saga coming to an end, it’s unclear if Marvel will revive any elements of the series in the future. Though with decently positive reviews and a not-bad audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, stranger things have certainly continued on.
Marvel Zombies will release on September 24th, 2025 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
