The upcoming game Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics has been confirmed for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
One of the most anticipated games of the year, Marvel’s Avengers, has finally been confirmed as a cross-generation title. Fans who purchase the game on PS4 or Xbox One, wether it be digitally or physically, can upgrade to the next-gen version of the game for free. Marvel’s Avengers will also support cross-generation play and fans can also transfer their save files between console generations.
The developers behind Marvel’s Avengers, also lengthily discussed the PS5 version of the game in a blogpost done in conjunction with Playstation. The post revealed that the PS5 version of the Avengers game will offer two different modes to cater to different players. The first mode will be an enhanced graphics mode with the second being a high framerate mode that will target 60 frames per second. No announcements were made for the different modes regarding the Xbox Series X. In addition to being more visually pleasant, the PS5 version of Marvel’s Avengers will also take considerable use of the console’s DualSense controller.
Not a Playstation owner? Don’t fret, as the developer confirmed that details regarding the Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC versions of Marvel’s Avengers will be announced at a later date. Those who were debating if they should purchase the game for this console generation or next seem to have their anxieties tempered as the free cross-generation update is a strong selling point. Beyond that, being able to play with your friends over different generations is perfect for those who just can’t shell out the cash for a next-gen console but still want to partake in the game. Details regarding the next-gen release dates will be released soon.
