Art Marcum & Matt Holloway In Talks To Write ‘Masters Of The Universe’

Masters of the UniverseThe Wrap reports Iron Man writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway are in final talks to pen the new draft of the screenplay for Sony’s Masters of the Universe.

While David S. Goyer was previously in talks to direct the Masters of the Universe film before stepping away to focus on other projects, he remained on board as an executive producer and screenwriter for the project. Now, Sony has hired Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, whose previous credits include Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, to write a new draft of the Masters of Universe script.

Based on the Mattel franchise of the same name, Masters of the Universe centers on the conflict between He-Man, the secret identity of Prince Adam, and the villainous sorcerer Skeletor on the planet Eternia. The franchise has previously spawned an animated TV series that ran from 1983 to 1985 and 1987 live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren.

Sony’s Matthew Milam will oversee the project for the studio and Mattel is a partner on the film. Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing alongside Franklin Entertainment’s DeVon Franklin.

Superhero Cinema 2018 Black Panther Avengers Thanos The Incredibles Aquaman2018 has gone by too fast. It seems like yesterday when the beginning of the new year was upon us, and the advent of having so many superhero movies hitting theaters seemed like a dream come true for every fanboy and fangirl. Even with those two films delayed, 2018 was still a massive year not just at the box office, but for the continued advancement of the genre on a number of levels. Whether it was through the cultural significance of a film like Black Panther or the exciting animated adventures of Incredibles 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there was no shortage of exciting superhero stories told on the big screen this year.

Here are the theatrical superhero films of 2018, ranked from worst to best. You can start the gallery by clicking “Next.”

Damn, I was hoping it would be part of the Arrowverse. Well, never say never. Things could possibly change down the road. :)

Wow, folks are still trolling me. Amazing how important I seem to be to you dickheads.

Fox will dump this in a year or two and CW will end up picking it up off the gutter, much like Supergirl.
