Man of Tomorrow may be close to finding its Brainiac! Matt Smith and Sam Rockwell are just a few names on the shortlist to join the cast of the DC Universe.
With pre-production on Man of Tomorrow slowly starting to ramp up, there is one question on every fan’s mind: who will be playing Braniac? The villain is one of the most anticipated characters set to make their debut in the DC Universe, and the rumor mill has been busy listing actors “reportedly” being considered to join the cast.
Fans now finally have a slightly-more-reputable report from the site Nexus Point News. The outlet reveals that the current (unverified) shortlist to play Brainiac in the DC Universe includes Matt Smith (Doctor Who, House of the Dragon), Claes Bang (The Northman, The Square), and Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2, Argylle). Even if the names aren’t entirely accurate, it does seem that James Gunn wants a middle-aged white man to be cast as the villain in Man of Tomorrow.
Who Is Playing Brainiac In Man Of Tomorrow?
Sam Rockwell, Matt Smith, and Claes Bang aren’t common choices that fans float as potential choices to play Brainiac in the DC Universe- so it’s still not clear what the fan consensus is on who should play the villain in Man of Tomorrow. However, it does seem like Matt Smith may be the fandom frontrunner to join the DC Universe.
That being said, none of these actors may end up making the cut. Man of Tomorrow is reportedly facing some budgetary restrictions that might keep them from adding their preferred actor to the cast. Which, while a shame for fans, does at least show that the DC Universe is keeping a tight ledger for their budgets.
