Is Maul – Shadow Lord actually peak? The trailer for the upcoming Star Wars animated series gives fans hope in Disney Plus once more.
It would be hard to imagine when watching the prequels that Darth Maul would become one of the most beloved figures in all of Star Wars canon. However, after a frankly historic run across the animated series’ that have defined the franchise since the 2000s, it’s gotten to the point that the internet is exploding at a simple trailer for his Disney Plus series.
Granted, that trailer truly is glorious. Star Wars has always had an immaculate record when it comes to their animated shows, even when their other Disney Plus offerings have faltered. Maul – Shadow Lord is a series that proves, not only is Darth Maul a strong enough name to carry a series, but that he can provide something to the universe that no other character can.
Maul – Shadow Lord Gets Dark
A pretty tight leash is being kept on details for Maul – Shadow Lord, so there’s not much to say outside of what was already shown in the trailer. However, the series is set to take place after the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars show, likely bridging the gap between it and Star Wars Rebels.
Sam Witwer is set to return as the voice of Darth Maul in Maul – Shadow Lord. Matt Michnovetz serves as the head writer for the Star Wars animated series, with Dave Filoni involved as an executive producer. With the show set to drop on Disney Plus later this year, it’s likely more details will be released in relatively short order.
