Is Kit Harington finally taking on the mantle of the Black Knight? The Game of Thrones alum is seemingly still set to return as the cult favorite hero.
The MCU has a LOT of lingering threads from the Multiverse Saga. However, perhaps no movie presents more than Eternals. From an ending primed for a sequel doomed to never come, to Harry Styles making his debut as Eros, there’s one thread that stands above them all: Kit Harington’s potential return as the Black Knight.
For those that don’t recall, Kit Harington appeared as Dane Whitman in Eternals. In the comics, it’s the alter ego of the Black Knight. But in the MCU he’s….kind of nothing? Aside from a post-credits tease suggesting that the hero would return in Blade, which itself is caught in development Limbo, fans truly have no idea what Marvel’s plans were for the hero.
Where Will The Black Knight Return?
After years of silence, it seems as though the rumor mill finally has some answers about the Black Knight’s future after Eternals. According to Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus, Marvel is still interested in having Kit Harington play a large role in the MCU. The rumor states that the studio wants him to reprise his role as the Black Knight in both Blade and the long-rumored Midnight Sons movie.
While fans would likely have better luck waiting for an Eternals sequel than for Blade to see the light of day, the rumor mill has had quite a few positive updates on Midnight Sons. It’s possible that Kit Harington makes his return as the Black Knight sooner than fans expected, assuming that the project is set to debut early into the Mutant Saga.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
