Tensions are already high on Earth-38 within the world of Supergirl. Anti-alien sentiment is at an all-time high, the DEO is now being supervised by the federal government, Kara herself is now in a new suit’s no match for Samus Aran, and lest we forget, there’s the huge battle that will be fought down the line with the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover. And in the shadow of all of this is Lex Luthor, who has been constantly named, but still unseen. Lena Luthor is here, and she’s currently in a relationship with Mehcad Brooks’ James Olsen, but that’s it.
But based on reports, we know that Lex Luthor will soon be making his grand arrival on Supergirl. Whoever gets cast in the role remains to be seen, but whoever ends up in the role, you can definitely expect some tension when he arrives on the scene in National City. In a recent interview, Mehcad Brooks discussed the expanding cast, such as the arrival of Jimmy’s sister on the show, Lois Lane showing up in the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover alongside the returning Clark Kent, but towards the end, he hinted at something more sinister coming in the form of Lex Luthor:
“We’ve seen a lot of brooding James, we’ve seen a lot of his passion for saving people and protecting people and safety. So that’s gonna be amazing. Lex coming back… Lex tried to kill me! That’s not a lot of fun. Obviously there’s gonna be a fraught situation between Lex and James and Lena, but we do drama really well.”
Given how Luthor already has drama with Superman, and given the sibling rivalry between Lex and Lena, you add onto that how Jimmy Olsen, the photographer who takes photos of Superman, is now dating Luthor’s sister? Well, there’s an episode in and of itself.
Though again, it remains to be seen who will ultimately be cast as Luthor and both when and how he’ll arrive on the scene in Supergirl. Who would you want to see cast in the role? More than that, what sort of drama do you expect to unfold when he ultimately ends up confronting both James and Lena? Let us know in the comments below.
