Tom Holland is officially set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man 4. A new rumor suggests fans will see the return of Michael Mando in the film as the long-teased Marvel villain Scorpion.
Michael Mando was first teased as Scorpion way back in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first installment in Tom Holland’s MCU trilogy. The post-credits scene for the film hinted at the formation of a Sinister Six which never came to pass. However, a new rumor by Marvel insider MyTimeToShineHello suggests Mando will finally get his chance to play Scorpion in Spider-Man 4:
It’s unclear what role Scorpion would play in Spider-Man 4 if Michael Mando does return. Given rumors suggest Vincent D’Onofrio will play the main villain as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin, it’s likely Mando would serve as a henchman to face Tom Holland’s Spider-Man head-on. Regardless of what role he’ll play, it’ll certainly be nice to see the MCU tie up one of its longest-running loose ends.
What’s next for Spider-Man?
What does the future hold for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened up a world of possibilities for the fan-favorite Marvel character. The movie ends with Peter erasing himself from the memories of his loved ones in order to protect them from his enemies. This sets up an interesting dynamic for future Spider-Man movies, as Peter will have to navigate a world in which he is not known as Spider-Man.
Rumor has it that Tom Holland has signed on for multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The future of the Spider-Man series is currently unclear, but it is likely that Marvel will continue to explore the multiverse concept that was introduced in No Way Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
