The Force isn’t strong with Mikey Madison! The award-winning actress has officially turned down a role alongside Ryan Gosling in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film.
Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film has been one of the most interesting projects that has yet to come out of the franchise. Levy himself is a rather controversial director and, given both Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins’ Star Wars projects have yet to materialize, many assumed that he was just yet another name attached to build hype for a franchise that has no plans on bringing their promises to fruition.
However, it seems that Shawn Levy may be the one director actually able to see his Star Wars project through. At the turn of the new year, it was confirmed that Ryan Gosling would play a leading role in the film. And while nothing official has come out about the film’s timeline, the rumor mill suggests that it could be aiming to film this fall.
Is Mikey Madison In A Star Wars Movie?
This brings things back to Mikey Madison, who has recently catapulted to stardom thanks to her Oscar-winning role in Anora. This has put her in the center of the rumor mill, with fans casting her in any number of nerd properties. Though one tangible rumor did come out of it all from Jeff Sneider, who reported that Shawn Levy wanted her to join his Star Wars film alongside Ryan Gosling.
Sadly, it seems as though Mikey Madison doesn’t fit in the galaxy far, far away. A report from Variety confirms that, while the actress was offered a role in the Star Wars project, she ultimately passed. While a shame, it does reveal that Shawn Levy is looking for a young actress to work alongside Ryan Gosling in the upcoming film, and that an official casting announcement may come soon.
