The cast continues to expand.

Milan Ray has reportedly joined Mahershala Ali’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Blade reboot.

It feels like it has been an eternity since Mahershala’s Blade reboot was announced back in 2019. As the years went on the cast and crew began to fill out with acting veterans like Delroy Lindo and relative unknowns like Aaron Pierre joining the cast. The film is being directed by Bassam Tariq and production is apparently set to begin next month. But, before the cameras begin rolling, the film has added at least one more cast member.

According to a recent report from The Direct, Minal Ray will be joining Mahershala Ali in the upcoming Blade reboot. Ray is a younger actress who is probably best known for her role in The Wonder Years reboot where she portrayed Keisa Clemmons. It is currently known what role she will play in the upcoming film.

Mahershala Ali’s Blade has yet to make an on-camera appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His voice, however, could be heard in Eternals where he spoke to Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman about him using the Black Knight sword, Ebony Blade. It is currently unknown if the character will make another MCU appearance before appearing in Blade.

Here is the synopsis for Eternals:

The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Harry Styles as Starfox, and Mahershala Ali as Blade.
