The DC Universe just got a whole lot more punk rock! The latest trailer for Supergirl shows off Milly Alcock’s emotional journey as the Woman of Tomorrow.
When the first trailer for Supergirl dropped late last year, reactions were mixed. There was near-unanimous love for Milly Alcock’s take on the unbreakable heroine, continuing the love from her DC Universe debut in Superman. However, there was undeniably something…off about the footage. Fans weren’t exactly bouncing off the walls at the film’s aesthetic, especially given how colorful the original comic was with its visuals.
Reception hasn’t gotten much better since that first trailer. Early test screening reports echoed the sentiment of the internet in those first few days – more Milly Alcock, less… basically everything else. This left some fans worried that the DC Universe had its first proper flop on its hands, with there still being no consensus as to whether or not Supergirl will sink or swim.
The Latest Trailer For Supergirl
Yet another new trailer has been released for Supergirl. And while it’s up to each fan to decide for themselves whether it looks like the team has corrected the ship of the DC Universe, there are undeniable goodies in the footage, including some stellar scenes from Milly Alcock and some hints as to what may have changed in those test screenings.
In addition to the trailer, DC Studios co-head James Gunn also shared a new poster for the movie.
It’s likely that DC fans will see more Supergirl footage before the movie arrives in theaters this Summer. DC Universe always has its big trailer prepared for the month before their movies drop – May – and it’s likely that small teasers will drop throughout June, littered with never-before-seen scenes of Milly Alcock as the Woman of Tomorrow.
