The first trailer for Supergirl has finally arrived! Milly Alcock takes the stage as the Woman of Tomorrow in new footage for the DC Universe’s second film.
After such a bountiful 2025, fans of the DC Universe have been a bit starved for content in the last few months of the year. The two biggest projects, Supergirl and Lanterns, have been holding back their promotional material despite coming out in the first half of 2026. The most fans have gotten is a faceless poster of Milly Alcock as the Woman of Tomorrow.
Yet the DC Universe seems to be playing catch-up with all the major trailers that have dropped (or are set to drop) in December. The trailer for Supergirl is officially here, and fans are already stunned. From the dutiful recreation of the Woman of Tomorrow comic’s aesthetics, to Milly Alcock’s stunning performance, and a taste of Jason Momoa’s Lobo- the film is shaping up to be a cosmic blast!
The Story Of Supergirl
Supergirl serves as a live-action adaptation of the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. The story follows Kara Zor-El (played by Milly Alcock) as she sets out on a journey of self-discovery across the cosmos. Joining her on her trip across the DC Universe are the noble warrior Ruthye (Eve Ridley) and her beloved dog Krypto.
Supergirl is set to be the first project in the DC Universe not to be helmed by co-chair James Gunn. And while Milly Alcock was cast by the aforementioned director, this will be the first true test as to whether or not the franchise will be able to stand on its own two feet. And if this trailer is anything to go by, it seems the Woman of Tomorrow is giving the DC Universe a better tomorrow.
