Ming-Na Wen On Fan Pleas To Bring Back ‘Agents Of Shield’

Fingers crossed!

Ming-Na Wen Star Wars The Mandalorian Agents of Shield

Ming-Na Wen has commented on the pleas of fans who want to see Agents of Shield return.

One of the earliest live-action shows produced under Marvel Studios was Agents of Shield, which explored the eponymous organization. The series was critically praised at the time of its release and managed to secure a strong, vocal fanbase that kept on coming back for more. The show ultimately came to a close in 2020 with its seventh season. While the show’s conclusion seems certain, star Ming-Na Wen is hopeful that more can be in store for the Agents of Shield.

While the show has been off the air for quite some time, fans are still hoping to see characters from Agents of Shield return, this time formally under the Marvel Cinematic Universe banner. With the multiverse now a key component of the MCU, the possibilities to bridge the series and the canonical universe are endless. Precedent also suggests that shows that are not linked to the MCU can be retroactively integrated, like Daredevil‘s Kingpin, who appeared in Hawkeye.

Fans have taken to social media with the hashtag #SaveAgentsofSHIELD, hoping to see the series return. With the fanbase so vocalized, Deadline asked Ming-Na Wen, who appeared as The Cavalary what the future holds for the series.

“I love that our small fanbase is getting bigger and bigger, because I think people are starting to rewatch all the episodes and realizing what a wonderful series it was and I love the fans and the fans’ reactions. Fingers crossed. Who knows?”

Ming-Na Wen currently stars in The Book of Boba Fett, another series produced by Disney. Hopefully, the star can use her clout on the Star Wars series to convince the brass at Disney to revive Marvel’s Agents of Shield.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD starred Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward. The series was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb. The series was produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television for ABC.
