‘Mission: Impossible 6’ Adds ‘Sherlock’ Star Sian Brooke

'Mission: Impossible 6' has added 'Sherlock' star Sian Brooke to the cast of the latest installment of the franchise opposite Tom Cruise.

Variety reports that Sherlock star Sian Brooke, who played the title detective’s sister on the BBC series, has been cast in an important role for Mission: Impossible 6. Details on the film and Brooke’s role are unknown at this point, aside from the fact that she will star opposite longtime series lead Tom Cruise.

Brooke also joins veteran cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner. Vanessa Kirby, star of the Netflix series titled The Crown, was recently cast and Justice League star Henry Cavill recently accepted a role as as the right hand to the head of Ethan Hunt’s unit.

In addition to her work on Sherlock, Sian Brooke’s previous credits include roles n British Television shows such as All About George, Cape Wrath and the ABC series Dinotopia. Sian Brooke’s stage work includes roles in Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie will return to write and helm the sixth installment of the franchise. McQuarrie will also serve as a producer alongside Tom Cruise and David Ellison.

Mission: Impossible 6 will be released in theaters on July 27, 2018.
