Is the Mister Miracle series actually going to be peak? Tom King reveals new details about the project’s cast and pushing the limits of animation.
Mister Miracle may be one of the most sleeper projects currently existing in the comic book space. Unlike other DC Universe endeavors, the series was announced in a press release, not during a major event. This in spite of the show packing some major talent, with award-winning writer Tom King helming the show based off his critically acclaimed mini-series.
The series has mostly been developing in silence. This makes sense, especially given how long animated projects take to come to fruition. However, during a recent appearance on the Comic Greek Speak Podcast (via ComicBookMovie.com), Tom King teased that the casting process for Mister Miracle is already underway, and that details on the show’s cast may come sooner than fans think.
The Animation Of Mister Miracle
Tom King didn’t just tease the show’s cast during the interview. He also touched on what fans can expect from the series in terms of animation. And it seems as though the DC Universe is pulling out all the stops, with the writer teasing that Mister Miracle will use “cutting-edge” animation to try to recreate the look and feel from the comics.
“[We aim to make] make the animation as good as what Mitch put in the comics,” King explains. “[DC Studios is] pushing the limits of all animation to get that done with all that.”
The Mister Miracle series isn’t the only DC Universe project pushing the bounds of animation. The Dynamic Duo film is set to bring superheroes to the world of stop-motion animation. It also wouldn’t be shocking if Tom King’s other hit graphic novels, such as Human Target, eventually get adapted as Elseworlds films.
