Netflix has released the first images from its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation.

During the recent TUDUM event, Netflix gave fans a number of updates on their favorite shows and films from the streamer. This included the first images from the upcoming adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, showing off first looks at Aang (Gordon Comier), Sokka (Ian Ousley), Katara (Kiawentiio), and Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu). The full images can be seen below:

Netflix first commissioned this series way back in 2018, with the project only recently entering production at the end of last year. While details about production have mostly been kept under wraps, it seems as though fans can expect their first batch of episodes to drop sometime next year.

Meet The Cast Of Netflix’s Avatar

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation will star Gordon Comier as Avatar Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, and Altered Carbon star Hiro Kanagawa as Fire Lord Sozin. The show also stars Amber Midthunder as Princess Yue, George Takei as Koh, Momona Tamada as Ty Lee, Thalia Tran as Mai, Danny Pudi as the Mechanist, Utkarsh Ambudkar as King Bumi, and Arden Cho as June. James Sie will be bringing his role from the animated series, the Cabbage Merchant, into the live-action adaptation.

With the Fire Nation on the brink of global domination, a young girl and her brother discover a 12-year old Airbender who reveals himself as the Avatar. Will this irresponsible kid accept his destiny in time to save the world?

The Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender series is expected to release sometime in 2024.
