Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy series has cast Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Ben Daniels, Andrew Horton, Elena Kampouris, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter in lead roles.
Netflix will bring Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy to life with a live-action television series and now key roles for the show have been cast. Transformers star Josh Duhamel will portray Sheldon Sampson, a.k.a. The Utopian, the leader of the superhero group The Union who is described as a man who no longer understands the world or his family. Leslie Bibbs, who portrayed Christine Everhart in the Iron Man films, will play Sheldon’s wife Grace Sampson, who is also known as the powerful hero Lady Liberty.
Ben Daniels stars as Sheldon’s older brother Walter Sampson, a.k.a. Brain-Wave, while Elena Kampouris will play Sheldon and Grace’s daughter Chloe Sampson, who is described as a character who has “abandoned the values of her parents and pursued a path that threatens the things they’ve fought for.” Rounding out the Sampson family is Andrew Horton, who portrays Sheldon and Grace’s son Brandon, who is training to become his father’s successor as the new Utopian and leader of The Union.
Additional cast members include Timeless star Mike Wade as Fizt Small/The Flare and Pitch Perfect 3 star Matt Lanter as playing George Hutchence/Skyfox. Fitz Small is a superhero who holds the team together despite his own superhero career coming to an end after whose career came to an end after a car accident while Skyfox is a notorious villain who was Sheldon’s best friend before he turned on The Union.
Based on Mark Millar’s comic book series of the same name, Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy is set in the present day and centers on the revered first generation of superheroes, who received their powers in the 1930s, and their superpowered childrens’ struggle to live up to the legacy of their parents.

2018 has gone by too fast. It seems like yesterday when the beginning of the new year was upon us, and the advent of having so many superhero movies hitting theaters seemed like a dream come true for every fanboy and fangirl. It’s also funny to look back and remember that although we ended up with a whopping nine major theatrical superhero movies, we almost had eleven. Sadly, Fox delayed both Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants to 2019 instead.
Even with those two films delayed, 2018 was still a massive year not just at the box office, but for the continued advancement of the genre on a number of levels. Whether it was through the cultural significance of a film like Black Panther or the exciting animated adventures of Incredibles 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there was no shortage of exciting superhero stories told on the big screen this year.
