New ‘Stargirl’ Trailer Shows Off Courtney’s Rebellious Spirit

A new Stargirl trailer has been released, highlighting Courtney Whitemore’s rebellious spirit.

Stargirl is coming out in a very interesting time for the CW Arrowverse. It is the first original show to be released since the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event and is coming out at a time where several of the shows are having to be reworked due to the coronavirus pandemic. While talks of crossovers with The Flash had happened, they did not bear any fruit so it seems that for the moment, Stargirl is doing its own thing apart from the rest of the Arrowverse. However, with the release date for the upcoming CW/DC Universe series rapidly approaching, the networks are determined to make sure people know the show is being released.

Earlier today, the CW released a new trailer for Stargirl. While it sadly doesn’t show us a whole lot that we haven’t already seen it does highlight Stargirl’s rebellious spirit and a determination to do things her own way. You can see the full trailer below:

Here is the official synopsis for Stargirl:

High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore, Joel McHale as Starman, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan, and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman. The series also stars Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker, and Hunter Sansone. Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode first season of Stargirl while Sarah Schechter and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti will also serve as executive producers on the series.

Stargirl is scheduled to premiere on DC Universe on May 18, 2020, before airing on The CW on May 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
