Warner Bros. and DC’s long-awaited Nightwing movie is still in the works, according to director Chris McKay.

Fans have been waiting a long time for a major announcement regarding director Chris McKay’s upcoming Nightwing movie. The process of creating a great movie takes a long time, especially when it comes to developing the right script. McKay has been very open about that, as has The Batman writer/director, Matt Reeves. Don’t worry Dick Grayson fans, McKay has finally given an update on the film’s status.

McKay, who last directed The Lego Batman Movie, has been attached to helm the upcoming Nightwing solo movie for over a year and though not much information about the story has been revealed, the director has kept assuring fans via Twitter that they should keep hope alive. When recently asked if McKay’s DC Extended Universe debut had been officially canceled, this is what the director had to say in response.

Nightwing isn’t the only major franchise that McKay is set to revitalize. Earlier this year, it was announced that he would be helming the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons big-screen reboot from Hasbro and Paramount. Hopefully, fans will get an update on Dick Grayson’s introduction to the DCEU sooner than later, but again, developing the perfect script for one of the most iconic heroes in the DC roster is no quick, easy task.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Nightwing and the DCEU as soon as more information becomes available. Are you excited about McKay’s Nightwing? Who do you think should play the iconic DC vigilante? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
