Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau becomes the iconic Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a stunning new piece of fan art.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige confirmed that a new Fantastic Four movie is currently in the works at Marvel Studios following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets. Part of the excitement that comes with the Fantastic Four joining the MCU is that we’ll get a likely new version of Doctor Doom. Doctor Doom is one of Marvel’s best villains and could play a huge role in the MCU if he makes his return to the big screen.

Before the Marvel Studios Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel fans had been fan-casting actors to play the MCU’s Doctor Doom. The Fantastic Four villain was played by Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon in the Tim Story films by 20th Century Fox. However, Toby Kebbell was the most recent actor to bring the character to life in Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot.

One actor who fans have suggested for the role of Doctor Doom is Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is best known for his role as Jaime Lannister in the hit HBO series. With his schedule having just cleared up due to Game of Thrones ending, it’s possible the actor could make his comic book movie debut in the role of Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom.
