Will Miguel O'Hara return to the Spider-Verse?

Oscar Isaac is hoping to return as Spider-Man 2099 for the upcoming Spider-Verse sequel.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a cinematic treasure trove for Spidey fans seeing as each frame was filled with a reference to the character’s expansive legacy. The post-credits sequence teased a brand new, futuristic Spider-Man being brought into the fold: Spider-Man 2099. The character was voiced by none other than Oscar Isaac.

With a Spider-Verse sequel currently in development, it’s hard not to imagine Oscar Isaac returning as Miguel O’Hara, especially because his post-credits sequence left fans in stitches. In a chat with Fandom, Isaac said that he’s hoping to reprise his role as the Spider-Man of the future.

“I would love to inhabit that character for more as well, so let’s hope so!”

It’s interesting how Oscar Isaac didn’t necessarily confirm his return as the futuristic Spidey seeing as the film arrives in cinemas later next October. It’s possible that Isaac hasn’t started recording his lines yet or that he’s simply playing coy. Should Miguel O’Hara pop up in the Spider-Verse sequel, let’s hope he’s joining Miles Morales on one of his missions and isn’t just a cameo.
