James Gunn’s DC meets Gen V! See Patrick Schwarzenegger suit up as Green Lantern in a jaw-dropping piece of fan art!
Ever since Patrick Schwarzenegger first lit up the skies as Golden Boy in Gen V, fans have been pushing for James Gunn to cast him in the new DC Universe. While everyone from Robin to Booster Gold have been tossed around, one fan cast that seemed to stick was Green Lantern, with this fresh piece of fan art by 21xfour on Instagram showing exactly how perfect many fans consider him to be for the role.
The fan art is clearly trying to evoke the image of Patrick Schwarzenegger as a young Hal Jordan, and it’s certainly working! With James Gunn setting up the main heroes of his DC Universe as a bit on the younger side, as well as having a Green Lantern series already in development, there may be no better fit for the Emerald Knight than Gen V‘s very own Golden Boy!

Despite how much noise is being made about casting Patrick Schwarzenegger as Hal Jordan, there’s not much known about James Gunn’s plans for the Green Lantern, even within the series he’s already greenlit. The only thing fans have to go off of when it comes to the DC Universe’s upcoming series is a cryptic hint posted by Gunn himself.
While nobody has been cast as Hal Jordan, or any other Green Lantern in the series, fans do at least know some of the crew behind the show. James Gunn has brought on Chris Mundy, Tom King, and Damon Lindelof to write for the series, with all three being massive names to fans of the DC Universe. So while Patrick Schwarzenegger may not land the role (Yet!), it’s clear the series is in good hands.
