A close up look at Paul Dano’s Riddler mask from The Batman has arrived online after the first trailer offered a brief glimpse at the villain.

With just under a year to go until The Batman swoops into theaters, new images from a 2022 calendar for the Matt Reeves film have offered a new look at Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader and Paul Dano’s Riddler in the film. However, many fans on Twitter were surprised that the villain won’t be rocking the typical bowler hat and green suit that he’s typically seen wearing in various iterations.

One black and white image shows off a detailed look at Paul Dano’s Riddler mask (which some think is ex-military clothing), and it brings a certain grimy quality to the upcoming movie. When the trailer first arrived last year, there were plenty of comparisons to David Fincher’s Seven and Zodiac, and this image of Riddler certainly leans into that in a big way. Hopefully Paul Dano will do something incredibly special with the role. Take a look at the images below.

What do you make of Paul Dano’s Riddler mask as The Riddler? Are you excited to see The Batman when the film arrives next year? Sound-off in the comments below!

The plot of The Batman is being kept under wraps, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The film will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Paul Dano’s Riddler and Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in the new DC film, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
