Can anyone REALLY have too much Peacemaker? The latest teaser for season 2 gives fans their clearest look at the alternate Christopher Smith that John Cena will play.
Fans were expecting a lot out of the first trailer for Peacemaker season 2. Laughs, love, maybe a little bit of cleaning up the canon. However, what they didn’t expect was the reveal that John Cena would be playing an alternate version of Christopher Smith that seems to have a grudge against the beloved 11th Street Kids. If any DC superhero was going to tango with the multiverse, absolutely nobody was going to guess Peacemaker.
Despite this revelation, fans were left completely in the dark about what the deal with this alternate Peacemaker will be in season 2. It was clear that this version of Christopher Smith was much richer than the one John Cena played in season 1, but that was the most fans had to go off of. That is, until the latest teaser dropped on DC’s social media pages, giving fans a clearer look at the new variant.
Who Is The Other Peacemaker In Season 2?
The shots, at 1:22 and 1:24 respectively, show that this new Peacemaker has gear that the original Christopher Smith could merely dream of. Namely, a jetpack and a wrist-mounted blade akin to the USB stick mounted into Robocop. We don’t see John Cena tangoing with himself in the teaser, but we do see what appears to be the original version of the character getting absolutely throttled by Rick Flag Sr., likely as penance for killing his son.
The teaser also all-but confirms the multiverse theory with a redesign of Christopher Smith’s dad: White Dragon. The villain now has a blue trim, not red, lining up with early set leaks from the production of Peacemaker season 2. Though which of these variants comes from the old DCEU and the new DC Universe is certainly a topic for debate.
