The Percy Jackson series has cast two more Olympian gods.
The Disney Plus series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has added Lance Reddick (John Wick) as Zeus and Toby Stephens (Black Sails) as Poseidon, as reported by Variety. The official social media pages for the series confirmed both castings with a photo of Reddick and Stephens alongside Walker Scobell, who plays Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon. Walker Scobell is leading the cast of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney Plus. Leah Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri are co-starring as his best friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. The full cast also includes Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Olivea Morton, Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jay Duplass and Timothy Omundson.
The story of Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows Walker Scobell’s Percy Jackson as he ventures across America in search of Zeus’ lost lightning bolt, having been accused of stealing it himself. Percy is a demigod, the son of Greek god Poseidon, who unites with other demigods at Camp Half-Blood.
The first official trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians made its debut during Disney’s D23 Expo, giving fans a sneak peek at the series. It’s the second adaptation of the Percy Jackson books after a film series that starred Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson.
Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan wrote the pilot of the Disney Plus series alongisde Jon Steinberg, with James Bobin directing. Steinberg is also overseeing the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz. It is being produced under 20th Television for Disney Plus.
