Warner Bros. and DC are bringing Batman back to the big screen with Twilight alum Robert Pattinson as the new Dark Knight. Of course, fans are expecting Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and surrogate father Alfred Pennyworth to join Robert Pattinson’s character in The Batman.
Earlier this year, a rumor suggested Pierce Brosnan was in talks to portray Alfred in The Batman and while this claim turned out to be false, the former James Bond actor remains a popular choice for the role among many fans. Now, digital artist Dalton Barrett has shared a cool piece of fan art that depicts James Bond alumn Pierce Brosnan as Alfred Pennyworth serving Robert Pattinson’s Batman a weapon.
Here’s what James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan could look like as Alfred Pennyworth for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
Pierce Brosnan made his debut as James Bond in 1995’s GoldenEye. After that, the role of James Bond would be portrayed by Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.
Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but the film is said to center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and The Penguin. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Pierce Brosnan, Robert Pattinson and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
