Ben Schwartz Wants To Star In DC Films’ ‘Plastic Man’ Movie

Plastic Man DC Comics Ben SchwartzParks and Recreation star Ben Schwartz has reacted to news of Warner Bros. developing a Plastic Man film.

Earlier this year, Ben Schwartz expressed interest in portraying DC Comics’ Plastic Man, the stretching superhero known for both his ability to stretch himself into almost any form and his silly humor. Now, Warner Bros. is developing a Plastic Man film and while the project is in the early stages of development, Ben Schwartz took to Twitter to announce that he’ll begin stretching in case he’s called upon to play the DC hero.

In the comics, Plastic Man started life as a criminal named Patrick “Eel” O’Brian. While attempting to rob Cole Chemical with his crew, the police arrived and O’Brian was shot and exposed to an unknown acid while trying to evade capture. After passing out and being left to die, O’Brian wakes up to discover he has gained to ability to stretch his body and form into almost anything. Although O’Brian initially considered taking his own life, a former Arkham Asylum inmate convinced him to use his abilities to fight crime as a hero the press mistakenly names Plastic Man.
