Sony Reveals Official Look For PlayStation 5 Gaming Console

Sony has officially revealed the look for its upcoming video game console, the PlayStation 5.

Earlier today, Sony held a live-stream reveal event where several new games were announced including Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil VIII: Village, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and several new original games. At the tail end of this announcement, Sony finally gave us a look as to what the PlayStation 5 itself will look like.

The actual design and development of the PlayStation 5 have been subject to speculation and rumor. An early and apparently leaked design of the console had the upcoming system look something more akin to a toilet than anything else. As it turned out, however, the design for the PlayStation 5, looks something straight out of a science fiction movie, discarding previous consoles traditional black aesthetic for a slick white.

You can see the full look at the PlayStation 5 below:

Unfortunately, there is still a lot this live stream did not tell us. Most notably, Sony’s live stream failed to tell us how much the PlayStation 5 will cost, nor did it give us an official release date. Predictions suggest that it will cost around $499 with rumors suggesting that it will be released sometime in November of this year. Until Sony makes an announcement, however, rumors and speculation are the only things we can go by.

What did you all make of this reveal event? Are you glad to see that Sony is finally letting us get a look at the PlayStation 5? Would you have like to have known its release date and price? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
