Bryan Cranston may be best known for his role as meth kingpin Walter White on AMC’s Breaking Bad, but the acclaimed actor’s humble beginnings include voice work as villains on the 90s television series Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Now, Cranston will return to his roots in the new Power Rangers reboot as Zordon, mentor to the team of heroes. In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Cranston donned the Red Ranger costume as he recounted his past work on the franchise.
The interview also featured a clip from the film featuring Zordon’s introduction to the young teenagers who will become the Power Rangers.

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discoverer they are the only ones who save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Directed by Dean Israelite, the film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks and Bill Hader.
Power Rangers will be released in theaters on March 24, 2017.
