The cast of Shane Black’s The Predator keeps on growing, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen has officially joined the project.
Allen joins Logan‘s Boyd Holbrook and Moonlight‘s Trevante Rhodes as another ex-marine, but that’s pretty much all that’s known about his character for the time being. The cast also includes Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane and Olivia Munn.
Black shared a first look at the cast of the film on Monday, but Allen wasn’t among the actors in the photo. The director, who wrote the script alongside Fred Dekker, also confirmed that he’s aiming for an R rating.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Holbrook recently told We Got This Covered that he doesn’t expect Arnold Schwarzenegger to return as Dutch. The actor also spoke about the film’s tone and how Black is infusing the project with a more traditional style:
“I’m currently working on Predator. It’s not a sequel; Shane Black has made something totally new, somehow keeping within the realm of Predator [while also being] absolutely new in terms of the story that we’re talking about today, and rooted in something real. It’s real fresh. I don’t think you’re going to see [Arnold] Schwarzenegger. It would kind of make it a gimmick. It’s horror, science-fiction and a western.”
The Predator opens in theaters on February 9, 2018.
