Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim is onboard to write Prophet from Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld for Studio 8.
Another character from Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld is heading to the big screen as Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim signs on to write Prophet for Studio 8. The character originally debuted in Liefeld’s Youngblood series before spinning off into his own adventures. John Propher was originally experimented on in World War 2 by a time traveller, before being cryogenically frozen and wakes up in the future. Guggenheim’s Prophet will be produced by Liefeld, Adrian Askarieh and Brooklyn Weaver. Askarieh previously produced Hitman: Agent 47 while Weaver worked on Run All Night.
Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim has helped introduce largely unknown heroes into The CW shows for many years now, so he’s a perfect choice to help deliver a new anti-hero to audiences. Liefeld’s Prophet is a science-fiction adventure with explosive action which makes it perfect for the big-screen. John Graham and Guy Danella will oversee the project from Studio 8 while John Hyde and Terissa Kelton will also be involved in producing the character. Prophet is often described as a berserker version of Marvel’s Captain America so it’ll be interesting to see how he translates into live-action.
