Before the credits begin rolling on the final episode of the second season, The Punisher added a special tribute paying respect to the late Stan Lee. The Marvel Comics icon passed away November 2018 and The Punisher is the second Marvel project to be released since his death.

Stan Lee also made a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, in which he voiced a merchant who sells Miles Morales a Spider-Man costume and assures him the outfit will fit, eventually.

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as “The Punisher.

The Punisher season 2 stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Deborah Ann Woll, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, and Annette O’Toole.

The Punisher season 2 premiere on January 18, 2019, on Netflix.
