Ray Porter Officially Confirms He Played Darkseid In Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ Cut

Ray Porter Zack Snyder Cut Justice League Darkseid HBO Max New Gods Ava DuVernay

Ray Porter has confirmed that he played Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s Justice League now that the cut is officially coming to HBO Max next year.

One of the most exciting aspects of Zack Snyder’s Justice League is that the film will feature the first live-action appearance of Darkseid. Michael Ironside’s voice work as Darkseid in Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League and The New Batman Adventures has led to some fans wanting him to reprise the role in a live-action project. However, we’ve know for sometime that Ray Porter was the one who played Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s version of the film and has even teased his voice.

A young Darkseid will appear at the beginning of Zack Snyder’s Justice League during the History Lesson sequence and at some point after Steppenwolf’s defeat. Darkseid will also play a role in the upcoming New Gods film, but it’s unclear if it will connect to Zack Snyder’s Justice League at all. Now that the Snyder Cut is officially happening, Ray Porter confirmed on Twitter that he played Darkseid.

Here’s the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
