Could fans finally have their next James Bond? A new rumor suggests that Aaron Pierre may be in the running to take on the role of 007.
Ever since Daniel Craig announced the end of his tenure as James Bond with No Time To Die, 007 fans have been scouring the net for any details they can find about who may end up taking on the mantle. The rumor mill has attached a number of large actors to the role, with everyone from Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Henry Cavill being floated as the next person to portray the infamous Agent 007.
Though the latest rumor may be the most interesting of all of them. According to Hollywood insider DanielRPK, Amazon MGM is eyeing Rebel Ridge and Lanterns breakout Aaron Pierre to take on the role of James Bond. Production on the upcoming 007 film is also reportedly set to begin at some point in 2026. However, a director is not currently attached to the project, nor are there any details on what the story may end up being.
Is Aaron Pierre Playing James Bond?
While Amazon MGM is reportedly eyeing Aaron Pierre, the rumor clarifies that there’s no certainty in meetings taking place. This likely means that the studio is eyeing other young, black, British actors for the role of James Bond. Some other big names that could take on the role of 007 based on these parameters include, but are not limited to: Daniel Kaluuya, John Boyega, Lucien Laviscount, and Damson Idris.
As for Aaron Pierre himself, the idea of taking on the role of James Bond would likely be daunting. Not only because of the struggles any actor would face taking on such an iconic character, but because he has already signed on to a blockbuster franchise with the DC Universe. If Amazon MGM wants someone to portray 007 for the next decade, Pierre’s career may be completely locked up by the intensive filming schedules of both universes.
