Peter returns!

Rob Delaney Peter Deadpool 2 Marvel

The much-awaited third installment of the Deadpool franchise is set to feature another familiar face. Deadline reports that Rob Delaney, who portrayed X-Force member Peter in the second film, has officially signed on to reprise his role in Deadpool 3. The news was confirmed by Ryan Reynolds, who took to Twitter to share the announcement.

Rob Delaney’s Peter made his debut in Deadpool 2 as a member of the X-Force team, alongside characters played by Terry Crews and Bill Skarsgård. He quickly became a fan-favorite for his relatable and humorous portrayal of an average guy thrust into the world of superheroes. Peter, who lacked any superpowers or combat skills, joined the X-Force team on a whim and provided comic relief throughout the film.

Deadpool 3 once again features Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth, with Hugh Jackman co-starring as Wolverine. The two characters have a long history in the comics, but the two haven’t shared the big screen since 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The first two Deadpool movies were produced by 20th Century Fox before the studio’s acquisition by The Walt Disney Company. Deadpool 3 is being written as the first movie in the series set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.

Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
