Invincible creator Robert Kirkman recently teased whether or not the animated Amazon show will get a second season.
Fans seem to be loving the first three episodes of Amazon’s Invincible series (and for good reason, it’s a lot of fun) but a second season has yet to be confirmed. But creator Robert Kirkman seems pretty confident that Mark Grayson will get a second outing in the future if his recent conversation with Collider is anything to go by. Since the company is pushing full steam ahead with its other gloriously violent show, The Boys, it seems likely that Invincible will get the same treatment.
Robert Kirkman opened up to Collider, explaining that if Invincible season 2 does get greenlit then the production process will be much tighter than the first – mainly because there’s already a set number of designs in place. The creator also pointed out that it’s entirely possible that work’s already been done on season 2. When we spoke to Robert Kirkman ahead of Invincible‘s premiere, he was excited for audiences to see how the show subverts expectations of a superhero story – so hopefully that theme will continue should the animated series continue! Take a look at the creator discussing the potential of season 2 below.
“The production timeline is somewhat daunting. I think that we spend a number of years developing and working on this season. As we hopefully move into season 2 and beyond, things will tighten. There’s definitely a lot less designing and different things that have to happen to move into our second season. And it’s entirely possible that there’s already work that has been done on the second season. So I think we’re in a good place to be moving forward were this show to end up being successful.”
