Robert Pattinson Replaces Ben Affleck As Batman In Alex Ross-Inspired Fan Art

Robert Pattinson replaces Ben Affleck as Batman with a stunning new Batsuit concept inspired by Alex Ross.

After playing Batman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its follow-up Justice League, Ben Affleck’s time as the DC Comics icon officially came to end earlier this year. Now, the Batman franchise will move forward with The Lighthouse star Robert Pattinson as a new version of Bruce Wayne, completely unrelated to Ben Affleck’s interpretation of the character.

The Batman is still in the early stages of production, meaning it will likely be some time before we see an actual image of Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit to compare it with Ben Affleck’s Batman look. However, Instagram user “datrini” has created a new concept design of Robert Pattinson succeeding Ben Affleck in a Batman suit inspired by the work of legendary comic book artist Alex Ross.

Full plot details for Matt Reeves’ The Batman are being kept under lock and key, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.

The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Ben Affleck, Robert Pattinson and the Batman franchise.
