The Robert Pattinson Batman voice will be inspired by Willem Dafoe.
Through Batman’s cinematic history, each actor has given a unique take on the Caped Crusader’s voice and some have been more well-received than others. With Robert Pattinson set to become the latest actor to don the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, fans are eager to know what the actor plans to do for his own voice as the DC Comics hero.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Robert Pattinson revealed his Batman voice will be inspired by Willem Dafoe. However, the Robert Pattinson Batman voice will be similar to the one Willem Dafoe used for his character in The Lighthouse, the actor clarified:
“Willem’s voice in this is quite inspiring for it to be honest. It is pretty similar to the voice I’m gonna do. […] I think Batman has a sort of pirate-y kind of voice. I think that would really suit him.”
The Lighthouse co-stars Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as two lighthouse keepers who start to lose their sanity and confront their worst fears while in solitude. The Robert Pattinson and Willen Dafoe film is now playing in theaters.

Full plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
